Taylor Lautner To Team With Michael Bay In New Project

For months, there has been buzz that Twilight heartthrob Taylor Lautner was being courted by director Michael Bay to star in upcoming films for 2012 and beyond. Deadline.com now reports that the rumors are true, and the two will indeed be working together on a currently untitled project.
A script for the film, which has been described simply as “Mr. & Mrs. Smith meets Wanted,” has already been sent out to major studios in hopes of finding a distributor. It shouldn’t be a hard task – both Bay and Lautner are successful in their own projects, and together should generate good star power. Bay has a history of directing popular action films such as Transformers and Armageddon, and his next project, I Am Number 4 opens this Friday. Lautner, who is currently shooting Breaking Dawn (the last movie in the Twilight franchise) has an enormous fanbase that puts him in demand for films across the board. His upcoming film, Abduction, will be released by Lionsgate on September 23.
